Third Space Gardens is one of a growing number of social enterprises operated by Third Space Boltonto help people who face real and significant challenges in getting a job. These could include trauma, insufficient work experience, health & wellbeing needs, education barriers and communication challenges.

We do this by giving them a real work opportunity and individualised support to ultimately help them progress into sustainable employment. We aim to recruit 50% of our team from one of our Third Space Bolton social projects.

Grant Robbins

Third Space Gardens Manager

Grant joined Third Space in 2021 to lead the gardens team. He manages over 30 gardens in Farnworth with the Groundbreakers project and has a team of horticulture experts to draw on.

Mark Cowling MA Industrial Design

Managing Director

Mark has worked as a design engineer for a large international firm. He combined his love of entrepreneurship with his passion for social justice by starting most of Third Space Bolton’s social enterprises.

Simon is our Finance Director who is also a partner of a law firm heading up the environmental team.
